The LU Board. About the Making of The Board: Each talking board created is an original handcrafted work of functional art, made individually through a slow, deliberate process using archival materials and traditional surface-building methods. Every board begins with Baltic Birch hardwood panel and is prepared by hand with natural gesso, then painted using handmade acrylic gouache made from natural pigments, along with India ink and natural dyes. These boards are designed to be both fully functional and worthy of display. Their word choice, layout, scale, surface texture, and aesthetic restraint are all carefully considered. My work is informed not only by a lifetime in the arts, but also by 25 years of study in occult traditions, spirit communication, and related practices. That long engagement shapes every aspect of the design, from the structure of the board itself to the simplicity, balance, and mood of the finished piece. Each board requires at least 40 hours of work over the course of weeks. From the preparation of the panel to the final painted details, every stage is completed by hand. The materials are chosen for both permanence and beauty, resulting in a lightfast archival object meant to endure as both an instrument and a work of art. No two boards are exactly alike. Each one carries subtle variations in surface, tone, and finish that arise naturally from the handmade process, giving every piece its own distinct presence and character.

Who is LU? LU is described as a 4th Density Service-to-Others Social Memory Complex and has been featured on both The Confused Wanderer and Esoteric Atlanta. LU first came through in the summer of 2025 and has since offered support and guidance through the use of talking boards.The concept of Service to Others originates from the The Law of One, a body of teachings based on the understanding that all existence is one infinite consciousness, and that every being is an expression of that singular source. These teachings describe life as a process of spiritual evolution through different densities, where individuals develop awareness, make choices, and gradually remember their true nature. Central to this philosophy is polarity—the choice between Service to Others (love, compassion, unity) and Service to Self (control, separation)—as a path for growth. Through self-awareness, acceptance, and the practice of unconditional love, one begins to dissolve the illusion of separation and return to unity. While some interpret Service to Others as angelic and Service to Self as demonic, we simply understand LU as LU.
